Yesterday our mum saw the story of how a cat’s life,
here in New Zealand, was saved by blood donated by a dog. She thought the concept of one species helping another like this was pretty amazing, so wanted to
share two links to the story (TV3 news and "The New Zealand Herald") and ask what your relationship with cats (or
dogs if you are a cat) is like?
I normally just watch my neighbors cats wandering across our property or sauntering up and down beside the fence without much interest. If I had to choose between getting close to a cat or getting some dog food I would choose dog food every time.

(Here I am trying to ignore a furry beast. Usually
cats are more interested in me than I am in them)
(Puppy Enzo meeting our grandparent's cat)
Our mum hears the noise, then rushes outside worried by what Enzo is up to or what he might do. She waves her arms around a lot, and make even louder noises as she calls Enzo away from the fence!
So what do you do when you see another species close to you, and would you give them your
blood? I would help a cat if I could, and my mum says that she would give me her human blood if it helped me, but she is not sure if she wants my blood due the fact that her doctors can get human blood from strangers.

My boys are quite yappy about kittehs. I used to have a kitteh though, and Shiver loved to cuddle with him. I'm sure he would have given his blood up for that kitteh, but not for others.
We bark like Terriers would and like Enzo does! Give a kitty our blood? The horror!
Love ya lots♥

That is a nice story, but we are like Mitch and Molly...probably not gonna happen.

Can't stand 'em! They pad about and don't tell a fellow that they are on their way with a decent Woof/Bark/Growl or what have you. They don't want to sniff or play. Strikes me they think that dogs are beneath them. Give blood? No way!
Mind you I suppose that I'd share my last biscuit if they were starving.
I am told that my Shyla was best friends with a cat before she came to live with us. She hasn't seen any housecats since then but I think she'd give her blood to save one.
Great story!
Yes, I'm with Enzo on this one! A cat extracted some blood from my face with her claws a few weeks ago, so I am not in a mind to go the extra mile to help any member of that particular species (except possibly my friend, Blogville Mayoress Madi).
Toodle pip!
Bertie.
PS Gail and I want to thank you, belatedly, for your absolutely awesome suggestion for my hard hat design. A brilliant example of lateral thinking. Look out for my blog post tomorrow in which I shall discuss all the different proposed helmet ideas...

Sam has never been fond of cats. I won't go as far as to say he is scared of them, but well...

The story of the Barn Raising red wine is really quite boring, Reilly. The bottle is presented to Kevin and his wife Jody and they can do whatever they want with it.
We like the idea of smashing it over the roof ridge!
Love ya lots
