HELP - the Paparazzi are after me!

If you think you haven’t heard from me for a while, you are right. I’ve been in hiding as I discovered I’m being hounded by my very own paparazzi. Yes the cameras are out to get me - I’ve heard the shutters click and seen the flashes.

It all started recently when Mum got herself a new camera and spent the first day with that camera following my every move “experimenting.”

Dad said something about over a hundred photos of me being taken in one day! You can see some of her first photos in this post.

Mum did photograph other things, but it seems I am going to be her main subject. Did you like how she was feeding me my kibble one piece at a time in all the photos above?

She even started making movies of me so I tried to lie very still so her movies looked just like her photos!

I don’t have to be doing much – just sleeping, running around the yard, playing, going to the beach, going on walks with friends and other dogs, barking at the cats next door, getting pats from small people, etc. which is pretty much my day to day life – but both mum and dad appear with small boxes and try to “capture” me.

Does this mean I’m special or am I actually being stalked?

So far being captured hasn’t hurt, but I’m not sure about the flash thing they do and occasionally and if my paparazzi are taking too long, I give them a bark to hurry them up, but ever since I was a puppy I’ve been pretty laid back about having my picture taken.

So I wanted to ask my readers if you have any tips for a young dog like me as I can see, now that I have my own blog, that this photo thing is going to gain momentum.

Mum will be following me around, creeping up on me when I am asleep or eating, and taking her camera thing with her when we go out. Like she did with this photo of one of the many lamposts I checked on the first day she had a camera.

Even closing my eyes on our walk didn't make her stop!

She was still taking photos while I tried to sleep.

So how do all you dogs and cats out there handle your own paparazzi? Do you find yourself being stalked by a human, and do you have any activities that are just too private for a camera or does anything go for this doggie blog land?

What should I do?

Well Riley, I think that you're just going to have to learn to shine and let the puparazzi capture your many expressions. You're so cute, by the way :)

Welcome to the photo world, bud! If you're lucky, your mum will get out the treats and give you some for looking cute. We humans like the perky expression dogs get when they want treats....

So, just be glad you're an extremely handsome dog and enjoy your fame with beautiful and flattering pictures!

Oh Riley...been there, done that!! I actually don't think your human could ever be as bad as my human - after all, my human is Chinese and we all know what Asian breeds of humans are like with cameras!!!!

The best advice I can give you is to just go with the flow, accept it...ignore it! I don't even notice now when the camera is clicking away. And no, humans have no shame when it comes to their dogs' privacy - especially once you have a blog - nothing is sacred! In fact, my human actually gets grumpy if something happens and she wasn't quick enough to capture it with her camera for the blog...or if we go somewhere or do something and she isn't able to take photos or videos...it's quite sad, really! :-)

Great advice above about treats - yes, you might as well turn it to your advantage and start to work out how to pose and which expressions get the "Aaah" factor - coz those are the ones that you can wrangle treats for! :-) Compared to doing tricks and Obedience and stuff, posing for photos is an easy way to get treats!

My dogs don't usually pay much attention when I try to photograph them outside but I think they notice the flash inside and they don't like it as much.

You asked if you're special or if you're being stalked. I think you're being stalked (by the camera) because you're special!

Hi Riley! We have the paparazzi after us a lot too. For us, we do have the advantage of numbers, so we can split up and she can't get all of us. But we have learned that there is nothing you can do - you just have to put up with the mom craziness. And she will probably stop taking as many for a while and then start up again - they seem to do it in waves. But yeah, you are pretty much stuck with it for life.

Who could resist that cute face of yours? I understand your mom and do these things myself. Corrie and Violet are actually getting camera shy, the others just go along like they are in Hollywood loving the media.
Riley, you just keep being cute and lovable you and we'll hear plenty of stories and see great pictures. Face it, you're a star!

Those are fantastic photos...Riley, we think you are so handsome and silly, your parents won't be able to resist taking your photo; but don't worry, it happens to all of us with a blog...Our Mommy takes hundreds of photos every week of us=sometimes we cooperate but usually, we don't!...Be careful, though, Riley, not too much of your private life is sacred as far as bloggers are concerned!...Have a fun, great day, sweet friend...kisses...xo...Calle, Halle, Sukki

Hey there Riley!
That beautiful face of yours is shining with vitality and energy! You are a photographic natural!
Now...you will most definitely have to get accustomed to the 'flashy beast'..there is simply no escape! Some doggies in cyberspace have at times gone on strike - all in solidarity of this irritating gadget. My suggestion...become a star at it! It makes the humans so affable and pliable - you can get anything out of them...it also gives you a good needed rest whilst they are trying to download all your pictures. ...haha...what fun!
Anyway - please tell mom: Lots of thanks for her very valuable comment about the walkies and the picnic. Mom is gonna try it with me today.
Sending lotsaluv to you. We sure do love you!

Poor Riley, it is SO hard being a beautiful Golden isn't it? Well, sorry kid, but I think you will just have to grin and bare it. Or eat the camera- but just warning you, it tastes terrible!

Gee, Riley, you're a good jumper. Do you like to swim or play in the water? We love to run and jump and play in water and chase balls.
