“Let the good times roll…”

(Enzo)

In posting these photos mum remembered the lyrics of that classic 1970’s song by “The Cars”.  The lyrics sort of fit what Enzo and I get up to when we each get a cardboard roll (the long tube from the inside of things like kitchen tin foil, Gladwrap plastic film, baking paper, etc.). Mum only saves the really tough ones, and when there are two tubes we both let the good times roll.

We leap about all excited, and I shred mine to pieces as fast as I can. Shredding things makes me so happy! Enzo runs outside and uses his roll as a stick for a game of fetch with the two legged ones. Eventually, when Enzo tires, I chase after him, bark loudly (hardly unable to contain my excitement), chase him around the lawn a few times, then steal his roll and shred it too!

Let the good times roll
Let them knock you around
Let the good times roll
Let them make you a clown

Let them leave you up in the air
Let them brush your rock and roll hair

Let the good times roll
Let the good times roll
Let the good times roll

Let the stories be told
They can say what they want
Let the photos be old
Let them show what they want

Let them leave you up in the air
Let them brush your rock and roll hair
Let the good times roll
Let the good times roll-roll
Won't you let the good times roll...

Woofs,
Riley

Let the GOOD times ROLL... that is what they like to say in New Orleans. BUTT we think you have a BETTER way of doing it.

Hey there Riley, Enzo and Mom,
You had me singing there...:) Thanks for this sweet post...and pictures.
I must tell you: Toby shreds his own 'inner cardboard tube' in a matter of minutes, with glee...but
Maxdog? That was another story...
Those tubes were used to carry messages around our house. Messages such as 'Tea?', 'Hello" etc - just a bit of fun. These were carefully written on a slip of paper and placed in the tube. Max didn't chew the tube, but carried them carefully from one person to the next - depending on who gave the command. It's a trait that I'd forgotten (not even mentioned in the book). Thank you for making me remember. Yep, those were good times...and they were rolling!
LET THE GOOD TIME ROLL!
Sending lotsaluv to you all.

Boy you sure made My Vickie smile and she was singing too. I personally dont' like the rolls, My Vickie puts them to her mouth and makes weird noises come thru them. It freaks me out.

Hi Riley & Enzo,

Long time no woof! We've been busy with oversease visitors staying with us and Hsin-Yi has been working like mad, trying to finish her novel...but we're finally starting to catch up with blog friends now!

Love the pictures of you guys having run with the cardboard rolls - I used to love them too when I was younger! Hsin-Yi always used to save them for me - and sometimes she'd stuff cool treats inside! ;-)

Slobbers,
