My first post

Hi,
My name is Riley and I am a three year old Golden Retriever who has never blogged before. My name was chosen before my new family met me, because even though they live in New Zealand, they both have an Irish heritage and living the "Life of Riley" is a saying that refers to living a good, easy and happy life - and that's what they wanted to give me.

This is the story of my life, and since this is my first post I thought I would start at the beginning.

I was born on the 24th of September 2006, and this is the first photo they ever saw of me. They had it on their fridge to look every day for two weeks until they finally came to get me when I was eight weeks old.

That's me on the right (when I was six weeks old)
with one of my brothers and my sister.

This is the first time I saw them - they were so excited, but I was pretty laid back!

I had a play with some of my family, and they spent some time with my family and my breeder, and then we were off on our big road trip.

It was a four hour drive to my new home
so I caught up on some sleep.

When we got home the frist thing I did was dig in their garden... but then after giving me some food and letting me run round outside some more, they showed my my new bedroom which was actually part of their laundry and their back deck.
It wasn't quite what I was expecting so I did some redecorating!

Then I got to play outside some more..

Chew on some grass and comtemplate my big day

and then pose for another photo.

Since then I have had lots of adventures which bit by bit (if I can figure this blogging thing out and find some time to write) I will try to tell you about.

Bye for now,
Riley

Looking forward to learning more about you in the coming days.
